Wollombi Markets Australia Day 2009

Wollombi once again celebrated Australia Day in true country style at the Wollombi Markets. There were plenty of stalls with produce and bric and brac. Hot food and ice creams, plants and clothing. The volunteers did a great job! From the allocations of stall sites, serving the teas and coffee, cooking at the barbeque, baking cakes, cleaning up the grounds afterwards and standing at the gate with the donation bucket!

Sydney Gas says it has had 'very few complaints' about its exploratory gas drilling in the Hunter Valley, even though vandals have sprayed graffiti at the site of one drilling rig.
