Mulla Villa Restaurant
This Hunter Valley restaurant is in the oldest section of Mulla Villa and dates back to 1830’s which was built prior to the main homestead. It has the original sandstone fire place where we now have an open fire going during the cooler weather. In the warmer months enjoy the deck with picturesque Wollombi valley views. Why not stay the night?
It has been said by our guests that the food at Mulla Villa tastes like it has been “made with love“. We use the best quality ingredients and locally sourced vegetables in all our dishes. Our Mulla Villa scones are house made, paired with certified organic strawberry jam that is second to none. We are so proud to be told by our patrons on numerous occasions that “You can taste the food!“

What do our guests have to say?
“We visited the Hunter and stopped at Mulla Villa for a lunch. The atmosphere was excellent, with a huge open fire. They had a new Chef just 5 weeks there, and his burgers were outstanding with little secret ingredients, making our lunch really special. The best burgers I had for a long time.”
“Had dinner at Mulla Villa, menu was simple and affordable, food was great, service was fantastic and the location exquisite. Ample parking was provided and the bonus of having historic convict cells to visit was amazing.”
“Four of us had a great night out at Mulla Villa Restaurant on Saturday. Between us we had all the entrees and fabulous fillet steaks for the main with our aged BYO red wines from our cellars (though some great wines on the list I noticed). Interesting beer list too with Happy Goblin Pale Ale from Mt Kuringai amongst others.Dessert and coffee also great. We sat next to the very large fireplace with a lovely wood fire and spent a lot of the evening chatting to the extremely hospitable and friendly staff and owners. Finished the evening with a sobering tour of the convict accommodation and cell with one of the owner’s and everyone including the chef had a chat and a laugh standing by the fire. This is the place to head for if you are in the Wollombi/Laguna area for a truly hospitable experience and trip back in time to 1840.”
“Lovely spot to stop for Lunch enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was of good quality style home cooking like mum does. We took family from overseas & they loved the view so relaxing. Service was great we will definitely be back.”
