Iconic 1840 Convict built Guesthouse Mulla Villa is celebrating With an Open Day for having their doors open to the publicfor 25 years! The Magistrates House that David and Eliza’s Hamilton – Dunlop built, with the help of convicts. The Iconic monument Cessnock people can be proud of. We open the doors one more time of this grand lady. Everyone welcome! Free tea and coffee and homemade scones will be available to all. From 1.00 pm till 4.00pm on the 19th of May 2013. A gold coin donation will be collected by volunteers of the Wollombi Endeavour Museum and donated to this worthy cause. Don’t miss out as this historic monument is now being sold and entrusted to the next custodians. The Maul family is proud to be included now in the list of custodians of Mulla Villa, as Eliza’s would say: “Mulla Villa House by the river in The Wollombi”. Brian and Francisca Maul received from Cessnock City Council in 1996 an Australia Day Heritage Award for opening its doors to the public. This award we were most humbled to receive, not to forget winning Tourism awards 5 years consecutive in heritage and unique accommodation. Let the spirit of Mulla Villa live on for many generations to follow!
